To replace a rack

Replacing a steering rack is one of the hardest to do it yourself car repair. Before you begin, read the instructions and make sure that everything you need. Also keep in mind that these instructions are generalized and not specific to your vehicle. Some measures may be necessary to do a little 'different. Please read the first factory shop manual. Finally, you need someone to help the project.

YouScrewdriver needed, and a ratchet with the key extension socket put, hammer, pliers, wire brush, filter, Power Steering Fluid, power steering, automatic transmission fluid, a separator bar, jacks, plugs, perhaps suitable for engine support, and of course the new rack and pinion steering.

First loosen the wheel nuts and jack the car's front. Then remove the two front wheels. Start with the wheel forward and turn slowly until you get ataken to the steering shaft bolt together. After removal of the screw using the screwdriver to touch the top of the joint. In this way you can easily move the spline terminal. Do not remove the spline clamp time. Loosen the screws in the plastic front plate, remove. Then release the lock the hubs on both sides. Remove the separator bar, moves from both sides. First, loosen the locking receiver pin, and the cardan ball. Remove the rubber boots and relaxPatella. Loosen the screws with the hydraulic supply and return, and remove the rack mounting. Ask your assistant to the steering wheel right, then the basket on the page. Then do the same for the opposite side.

Take the support of the hydraulic line holder, boot, rubber bearings, metal stand and sit on the new network. How the wheel has already left to install this first page. Then the position of the spline shaft, shaft is correct. Once done, turn the wheel and makethe same for the other side. Putting the screws on the rack. Install supply and return hydraulic lines. Centre steering rack and steering wheel. Re-installation of ball joint, rubber boots and tie. Install the steering column universal slotted screw, then install the front pan. Replace the front wheels.

You're all done. This is not one of the easiest jobs to do yourself but if you follow the instructions above and read the manual of your vehicle isshould be very good.
